My name is Sam and I’m approaching 50. My husband Nav and I moved to Forest Hill nearly 12 years ago and we live in a light industrial building we were lucky to find and renovate. I love yoga, cold swimming (sometimes) and house music.
I’m known for helping people heal their relationship with themselves or with a significant other – resolving a difficult conflict at work, with a partner or family member. I’m also known for the deeply relaxing Crystal Bowl Sound Baths I run here in Forest Hill.
On the outside, people see a confident, easy going, successful woman who perhaps looks a little younger than she is. This is pretty close to who I am today although this wasn’t always the case. No one could guess at the difficulties I’ve faced and the battles with self-doubt, self-hate and lack of self-worth I’ve struggled with in my life. In my 30s I found myself trapped behind a mask I didn’t even realise I was wearing, somehow on the edge of my own life.
I learned there is a gift and opportunity in every struggle and in 15 minutes, I’ll share with you my greatest lessons so that you too can resolve any conflict you may have with yourself or someone important to you and unlock freedom and ease and more love in your life too.

The Proper Blokes Club started in 2020 with a vision to create a safe space for men to open up and talk about how they really felt, nearly 3 years on this has to date been a massive success reaching 200 plus men and countless more on are social media channels.
We use nature as are focus being getting out on walk and talks in beautiful environments to relax you even more places like the Thames path and other parklands etc.
This was only meant to be a small group in my local community but it’s taken off so much that this beast keeps growing! The more we grow the more we support men in need!

I’m Jody Burton a Librarian and Author. I’m a south Londoner of Caribbean heritage and live in Catford. I’ve always had a love of books, history and art, and hosted a Black Arts Group via Meetup for 3 years. I studied Caribbean Studies in the 1990s and, worked in adult education before moving sideways into libraries.
Black London: History, Art and Culture in Over 120 Places was published on Windrush Day 2021. The idea for the book came out of frustration with the lack of Black British history and representation. It was written with co-author Avril Nanton and was three in the making. In 2022 the Black History London Map was also published and together they illustrate global and local history from plaques and places to monuments and murals. The map includes one of the latest landmarks, the National Windrush Monument at Waterloo Station, which marks the contribution and resilience of the Windrush generation. South London highlights include the Battle of Lewisham mural and plaque in New Cross, the Black Cultural Archives in Brixton, Nelson’s Ship in a Bottle by artist Yinka Shonibare in Greenwich, and the Sphinxes in Crystal Palace.
I’ve just created a Black History Walking Tour of Deptford (map & audio) for the 2nd Deptford Literary Festival to be held on Saturday 18th March. People will get to discover more about Deptford, the layers, events, people, and places in history. Black history is British history and together they tell our collective story in all its challenges and triumphs.

Andy Gray started JOM Youth Music 6 years ago which uses the power of the local community to make young people feel as special as possible for stepping up and making music.
Nearly a thousand young people have taken part and more than 100 adults have volunteered to help. For many it’s been the start of an unexpected journey.

My names Nitesh, I’m a local Forest Hill Artist by the name Roshn. Having never stopped drawing from a young age, I furthered my learning in Art through GCSE, A-level and Foundation Studies. Looking for a ‘secure‘ career path, I chose a degree in Transport and Product Design.
I’ve worked freelance jobs in Graphic, Interior, Product and Fashion Design. And after finding no career success I came full circle back to painting and drawing, retraining my eye, looking for my authenticity in Art. Working alongside my practice, I worked jobs in Galleries, Picture Framers, Art Fairs, Art Handling, Installations and even Art Transportation.
Harbouring this passion for Art but a distain for the Industry. I’ve always recognised that Art has the power to connect in magical ways which runs like a vibration through us all.
This year I’m focusing my efforts on sharing what I’ve learnt, to help facilitate the creative spark within us all.
I’m looking forward to infusing the flame of creativity, bringing us all closer to our individual, beautiful and authentic vibration through Art.
